Srinagar, Nov 16 (KNO): Chief engineer Distribution KPDCL on Tuesday directed all superintending executive engineers to ensure judicious use of electricity. "Whereas, the pilferage of electricity is a blot on the very conscience of administrative machinery and indeed a social crime committed by the defaulting consumers. The aim of this wing of KPDCL has always been ‘Zero Pilferage’ and ensuring judicious use of precious electricity across the network,” reads the circular issued by the Chief Engineer. "Unfortunately, this office is receiving inputs about the daytime hooking in various areas, questioning the efficiency and credibility of the distribution wing of KPDCL Srinagar. Such negligence is intolerable and needs to be eradicated without any iota of breeding space,” it said. "In this endeavour, all the territorial Superintending Engineers/ Executive Engineer are hereby directed to pass on stern instructions to the sub-ordinate staff / field staff to ensure that no illegal hookings / non-judicious of electricity are prevalent in their respective section. In case, of any deviations found by the inspection squad of this Directorate / sub-ordinate offices the concerned staff shall be held responsible and disciplinary action shall be taken on this account against them,” the circular reads—(KNO)
